Been a while.

Hey all. Its been a while. This is because i tried to update the blog and halfway through firefox shut down and i lost all that crap. Anyhoo, been up to alot.
Last Friday I think i went to a movie although at the moment I cant remember.
home and change because my relative who is the director of the national theater invited a huge group of relatives to a play called Halldor i Hollywood. Iwas about there most cherished author trying to make it in hollywood as a screenplay writer. It was two and
Saturday was very full. I went to a newly renovated pool and spa which was lovely and then off to this festival of trees type thing (except that it was all very high end scandinaian design). Amazing stuff. Although to get in the xmas spirit i kinda need the tacky crafty stuff too. Then I had to rush home and change because my relative who is the director of the national theater invited a huge group of relatives to a play called Halldor i Hollywood. Iwas about their most cherished author trying to make it in hollywood as a screenplay writer. It was two and a half hours of absolute hell, mostly because its a really heavy play that they decided to turn into an ICELANDIC MUSICAL at the last minute. But it was totally worth the experience cuz it was so rediculous. After the play we all went into this private fancy resaurant in the basement of the theater. The dinner was very pretty. So pretty in fact that I seriously considered licking the plate afterwards cuz i was still so damn hungery. And there was wine too. I went over very well with these relatives because they were just a tiny bit snobbish in a fun way and oh-so academic and loved the fact that i was just galavanting abroad and have a pretty much useless degree thus far...After the supper me and my cousin Ragneidur went off to as many of the most rediculously seedy bars we could find and i can't tell you how successfull we were.
Sunday was another very full day, made even more taxing by the late night prior to. Had to wake up early and put on about 5 layers of clothes cuz me and oli went horseback riding on icelandic horses through the lava fields (hence the pics). Of course my horse was white ;) and his name was cari (pronounced cow-rrrie and spelled a little diff but i dont have an icelandic keyboard at the moment). It was amazing and 3 hours long. There were just four of us. Me, with the least experienced on horses, a fench girl who was sooooooo french it was hilarious, Oli the icelandic farmhand, and our danish guide who oli had to switch horses with and show how to ride an icelandic horse (which is way different than a normal horse!). Then....after the horse ride I was increadably sore so we went to the blue lagoon spa which was unbelievable at night (and by night i mean 5 in the late afternoon/early evening cuz it was already pitch black). That place is amazing...some parts of the hotsprings are so hot you can actually burn yourself. And the water is naturally a neon blue colour. After that we only had like half an hour before we made the 20 min drive back and changed for the white stripes concert. Clearly we were late but like everyone else in iceland...so was the concert. The opening band was fantastic and hilarious. It was a total mod rock group made up of six 15 year old boys! they were so cocky and trying so hard that you had to luv them. And then after that Jack and Meg were increadible....she was amazing to watch. And jack was wearing a white matador suite with red embroidery all over.
Last night was hillarious...i somehow ended up in the brand new hand gun grey 2005 mustang that a friend of a friend just bought. They were hilarious. The kept flooring it on these straight empty highways but always waiting for the "good part" in the euro-trance music that they were playing. It as like the chachie highschool boy moment i always managed to avoid when i was actually in high school but it was so much fun as a 23 yearold for some reason.
That was about it for the excitment. Very long weekend and woke up sick on wed....no small wonder. And I just hafta say that while i sit here this amazing crazy woman who is a biologist and is reading a book called "French Verbs 4U" is chatting me up. She is hilarious!....But intill i have more exciting news i will talk t'yall later.

PS- i am going to apologize for the horrible typing at times...i try to catch it all but i get thrown off cuz i am always switching from icelandic to english keyboards....

I wish I had weeks where I got to go to sweet bars, ride a little horse and see the White Stipes. I got to see an awful college rock fest, almost get hit by a bus while riding my bike to work and drink in my unbelievably dirty house that now has two large holes where someone threw rocks through our windows. Iceland is sounding better and better!
